Claire’s Walk and memorial service were a huge success and have got our campaign for justice off to an incredible start. There are so many people we now want to say thank you to.

Firstly, to everybody that braved the snow and freezing temperatures to come out and show their support. The line of people carrying candles was an overwhelming sight and something that will never be forgotten.  You were joined by thousands more people who couldn’t be there but gave their support by looking at this website, joining the Facebook group and following us on Twitter.

We would also like to mention Kent Police & Crime Commissioner Ann Barnes, Chief Supt Neil Jerome, Mayor of Greenhithe Vic Openshaw,  Cllr Keith Kelly of Greenhithe ward and Cllr Jonathon Hawkes of Stone ward. The Mayor of Dartford, Ann Allen, told us she was “very impressed and humbled by the event”.

The Mayor added:  “The support was overwhelming. I found this a very moving occasion and Dartford is very proud of Tilt’s special friends. Well done to you all and please be assured that we will never forget.”

The help of MP Gareth Johnson has been invaluable; he has already raised Claire’s case with the Prime Minister, and we will be meeting with Gareth soon to discuss possible next steps for the campaign.

Special thanks go to the Reverend Kenneth Clark (of St Marys Church – Stone) and the wonderful people of St Mary’s church, Greenhithe, for giving us the church to use and for hosting such a moving service. The hot drinks to warm everybody up were a lovely gesture.

It was wonderful to have so many people come back to the British Legion afterwards and we really appreciated the hospitality of the staff and members of the Legion for hosting us. Thanks must also go to Dave Holding and his team at Kent Police for helping us to arrange the walk and for escorting us safely.

Finally, thank you to everyone who never knew Claire but came anyway. We want to get justice for her at last, but we also want to remember her as our friend, our mate, our Tilt. We were overwhelmed that so many people came along to hear about her life, not just because of her death. With more than 250 people attending, St Mary’s Church was packed. We know her parents Lin and Cliff would have been so touched to see how much love there is for their daughter and we wish they could have been there to see it themselves.

Your valued and well needed support has carried us to the start of this campaign. Please stay with us now as we continue on in the hope of finally getting Justice for Claire.Cliff and Lin never gave up hope and neither will we.
